Lab File Installation Instructions

Download and Install the Lab Files

1. Once you have downloaded the IT Guru Academic Edition lab files, place Labs.zip in the C:\opnet_models\Labs folder
2. Double-click on the zip file, select all 3 files and extract them to the C:\opnet_models\Labs folder
3. Create 3 new folders: Lab 1, Lab 2, and Lab 3 within the C:\opnet_models\Labs folder
4. Double-click and open LAN_Lab_1.zip. Select all the files and extract them to the C:\opnet_models\Labs\Lab1 folder. You should now have all the files of the Lab 1 present in the C:\opnet_models\Labs\Lab1 folder
5. Repeat step 4 for the other zip files: LAN_Lab_2.zip and WAN_Lab_3.zip to extract them into their respective folders
6. You should now have all the individual files extracted into their respective folders: Lab 1, Lab 2, and Lab 3
7. To add the files to the software, open IT Guru Academic Edition 9.1
8. From the menu, select File -> Model Files ->Add Model Directory
9. Select C:\opnet_models\Labs and click OK. A window “Add to Model Directories” will pop-up
10. In the “Add to Model Directories” window, select “Include Subdirectories”. All the sub-directories, namely Lab 1, Lab 2, and Lab 3 will be added
11. To verify that your labs are added to the software, select File -> Open and scroll through the list of projects. You should see the LAN_Lab_1, LAN_Lab_2, and WAN_Lab projects
