Courses that use OPNET:
ECE 541 - PERFROMANCE EVALUATION OF COMPUTER AND COMMUNICATION NETWORKS
Introduction to performance evaluation techniques for
computer and communication networks. Specific topics
include: Little's theorem, birth-death processes, M/G/1 queue,
product form queueing networks, approximation techniques
for G/G/1 queues and non-product form queueing networks.
Topics to be covered in simulation theory include: discrete
event simulations, generation of random variables, variance
reduction techniques, and general purpose simulation
languages.
ECE 545 - COMPUTER COMMUNICATION NETWORKS
Basic principles of computer communication networks.
Overview of data communication networks. Data Link Layer
Protocols: error detection and correction, automatic repeat
requests. Delay models in data networks. Local Area
Networks (Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI, DQDB). LAN
interconnection using bridges, routers and gateways. Routing
in data networks. Flow control and congestion control.
ECE 741 - ASYNCHRONOUS TRANSFER MODE (ATM)
This course is designed to impart introductory aspects and
engineering considerations involved in ATM
Telecommunication and will cover the salient aspects of ATM
network working principles, performance issues, traffic
management, ATM switching, interfacing, signaling, routing,
modeling, etc.
