ECE 541 - PERFROMANCE EVALUATION OF COMPUTER AND COMMUNICATION NETWORKS
Introduction to performance evaluation techniques for computer and communication networks. Specific topics include: Little's theorem, birth-death processes, M/G/1 queue, product form queueing networks, approximation techniques for G/G/1 queues and non-product form queueing networks. Topics to be covered in simulation theory include: discrete event simulations, generation of random variables, variance reduction techniques, and general purpose simulation languages.

ECE 545 - COMPUTER COMMUNICATION NETWORKS
Basic principles of computer communication networks. Overview of data communication networks. Data Link Layer Protocols: error detection and correction, automatic repeat requests. Delay models in data networks. Local Area Networks (Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI, DQDB). LAN interconnection using bridges, routers and gateways. Routing in data networks. Flow control and congestion control.

ECE 741 - ASYNCHRONOUS TRANSFER MODE (ATM)
This course is designed to impart introductory aspects and engineering considerations involved in ATM Telecommunication and will cover the salient aspects of ATM network working principles, performance issues, traffic management, ATM switching, interfacing, signaling, routing, modeling, etc.
