OPNET Panorama 4.0 Introduces Breakthroughs in Enterprise Application Troubleshooting

New release extends real-time monitoring and forensic analysis of business applications to maximize performance

BETHESDA, MD – May 3, 2007 – OPNET Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPNT), a leading provider of management software for networks and applications, recently announced the general availability of Version 4.0 of the OPNET PanoramaTM solution suite, including OPNET Panorama for Production and OPNET Panorama Plus for QA. The OPNET Panorama solution suite provides real-time performance analysis of complex Java/J2EE applications by monitoring system and application metrics within each server, across all tiers. It automatically spots performance anomalies with advanced deviation tracking and correlation technologies, pinpointing symptoms that might otherwise go undetected.

New in OPNET Panorama 4.0
Panorama 4.0 incorporates significant new features, including the following capabilities:

  • Forensic activity is automatically triggered by important events, such as threshold alarms, to generate valuable secondary evidence for root-cause identification and troubleshooting of performance problems.
  • Panorama's new automated reporting provides easy, flexible creation of historical reports. These can be triggered automatically by real-time events, produced on a scheduled basis, or generated on demand.
  • Panorama 4.0 provides deeper Java transaction tracing, including analysis of SQL statement metrics and bottleneck identification.
  • New data adaptors enable expanded instrumentation of the application environment, including support for Sybase, and easy import of external data, such as business metrics.
