OPNET Announces Solution for “Live” User Monitoring

Plans for ACE™ Live revealed at OPNETWORK® 2007 annual technology conference

BETHESDA, MD – September 5, 2007 OPNET Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPNT), a leading provider of management software for networks and applications,  announced plans to deliver ACE Live, a solution for passive end user experience monitoring. It will seamlessly integrate with OPNET’s ACE for rapid diagnosis of detected application performance problems in high-speed environments. ACE provides best-in-class analytics for in-depth troubleshooting of application performance. The new offering is planned to be available in the second calendar quarter of 2008.

Marc A. Cohen, OPNET Chairman and CEO, and Alain J. Cohen, President and Chief Technology Officer, made the announcement at OPNETWORK 2007, the firm’s eleventh annual technology conference. OPNETWORK attracts thought leaders from industry, government, and academic communities from all over the world to advance best practices for application performance management, network operations, capacity management, and network R&D. More than two thousand participants attended the conference, representing corporate enterprises, government agencies, service providers, network equipment manufacturers, and OPNET staff.

When making the announcement, Marc Cohen stated, “ACE Live will be unique among performance monitoring solutions because it will leverage ACE’s powerful diagnostics in an on-line, real-time solution.” Alain Cohen added, “Its agent-less monitoring will be complemented by optional active monitoring. These two approaches are complementary.  Live monitoring tracks the actual response time that users are experiencing, with alerting and rapid diagnosis of performance problems. An active approach monitors end-to-end response continually, proactively detecting issues even in the absence of user activity.”

In addition to announcing ACE Live, OPNET featured major new and upcoming releases of many of their software offerings, including release 14.0 of ACE, IT Guru® Network Planner and SP Guru® Network Planner, SP Guru® Transport Planner, IT Guru® Systems Planner, IT Sentinel® and SP Sentinel®, IT Netcop™ and SP Netcop™,  OPNET Modeler®, OPNET Panorama™  release 4.5, OPNET LoadScaler™ release 8.0, and SLA Commander™ release 4.5.
