OPNET Announces Record Early Registrations for
OPNETWORK® 2006

Annual technology conference to feature notable keynote speakers and Alliance Partners

BETHESDA, MD –August 22, 2006 – OPNET Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPNT), a leading provider of management software for networks and applications, today announced record early registrations and industry participation for its annual technology conference, OPNETWORK 2006, which focuses on intelligent analysis of networks, applications, and systems.

Based on early registrations, OPNET expects that the five-day event will attract a record number of attendees.  The attendees are expected to represent corporate enterprises, government agencies, service providers, and network equipment manufacturers from all over the world. The event is being held at The Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. from August 28-September 1.  The conference will feature over 650 hours of sessions covering a wide range of topics including application performance management, network operations, capacity planning and design, and network technology R&D.  More than 1,800 people attended last year’s event, OPNETWORK 2005.
