(NASDAQ: OPNT), a leading provider of management software for networks and applications, today announced that it has completed its search for a new independent director with the appointment of Ron Kaiser to its Board of Directors and to the company’s Audit Committee on October 22, 2003. Mr. Kaiser fills the seat vacated by Bruce Evans, of Summit Partners in April 2003. Mr. Kaiser presently serves as CFO of Air Cargo, Inc., which is a leading US and European cargo transportation logistics provider, and a privately-held business primarily owned by the Carlyle Group. Mr. Kaiser has more than 20 years experience in financial and accounting management at both publicly-held businesses and private enterprises, and has been a CFO of eight different companies in 3 technology segments. Prior to Air Cargo, Mr.Kaiser served as OTG Software’s Chief Financial Officer, where he was instrumental in OTG’s management from 1998 through its Initial public offering in 2000 and its ultimate sale to Legato Systems for approximately $400 million in May of 2002. Prior to OTG, Mr. Kaiser served as CFO to an Internet firewall and security software company, Trusted Information Systems, Inc. (TIS), where he played a key role in orchestrating the company’s $50 million public offering in October 1996, as well as its ultimate sale in February 1998 for $350 million to Network Associates.
