![]() OPNET Leverages Citrix Business Alliance to Deliver First-to-Market Application Troubleshooting Solutions BETHESDA, MD– August 25, 2003 --OPNET Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPNT), a leading provider of management software for networks and applications, today announced its membership in the Citrix Business Alliance (CBA) program at the Premier level. OPNET now supports performance analysis of applications running in a Citrix¨ MetaFrame XP Presentation Server environment. Highlights of the new capability:
Alain Cohen, OPNET's President and CTO stated, "Many of our customers experience challenges in deploying distributed applications and implement Citrix technology to address them. However, without an ability to decode the Citrix ICA protocol, options for troubleshooting performance problems in mission-critical transactions are limited. Through our relationship with Citrix, OPNET enables enterprises to implement and manage Citrix-based applications with increased confidence. Since end-to-end performance is often managed by different teams within an enterprise, finding the root causes of problems can be difficult. Our IT Guru and ACE software reduce finger-pointing among these different teams, and quickly point out what"s causing the performance problem, whether it be application, network, or server related." Deb Curtis, Research Director at Gartner Group, stated, "Infrastructure management has to move beyond the tools and processes that only enable optimization within technology silos and foster finger-pointing, "it's not my fault" attitudes." Josh Drachman, Citrix's Director of Technology and Emerging Partnerships added "We are very excited about this new alliance with OPNET since their ACE module allows the virtual deployment of applications running on MetaFrame XP Presentation Server, and analyzes the impact of applications that should be deployed on MetaFrame on the end-to-end network architecture capacity."
