OPNET SP Guru Selected by Schlumberger for Intelligent Network Management

BETHESDA, MD., September 25, 2002 -- OPNET Technologies [Nasdaq: OPNT], the pioneer and leading provider of Intelligent Network Management solutions, today announced that global technology services company Schlumberger has selected OPNET SP Guru to support its DeXa.Net* global connectivity offering, including the DeXa.Net Secure Private Network (SPN).
The Schlumberger DeXa.Net SPN provides faster and more reliable connectivity for enterprises located anywhere in the world. State-of-the-art technology implementation, including Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), provides a cost-effective service and enables traffic engineering, delivering bandwidth-on-demand to accommodate the changing needs of an organization.
OPNET SP Guru embeds expert intelligence about how networked applications, routers, and servers operate, enabling service providers to automate complex tasks associated with network planning and engineering. Schlumberger will use SP Guru to support its deployment of MPLS-based VPNs, providing "virtual" demonstrations to prospective users.
