OPNET Broadens Global Presence to Australia with Third International Office

Leader in Intelligent Network Management Software to Support Growth in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia from New Sydney Office

BETHESDA, MD —January 2, 2002 - OPNET Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPNT), the leading provider of intelligent network management software, today announced operations in Sydney Australia to offer customers in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia direct access to OPNET sales support and technical resources.

OPNET's Sydney office is its third office outside of North America, following two successful launches in Europe. OPNET's Paris, France office began operations in November 2000, and the new Oxford, UK office in August 2001.
