Siebel Systems Purchases IT Guru for Managing Growth of Networks and Applications

BETHESDA, MD., -- May 7, 2001 -- OPNET Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPNT), the leading provider of intelligent network management software, today announced that Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SEBL)—a world-class provider of eBusiness software—has purchased OPNET's IT Guru product for Siebel's IT Network Planning and Network Operations departments. The agreement comes at a time in which Siebel Systems has experienced rapid growth, and has launched 50 new sites on its network within the past six months.
According to Siebel Systems, mounting demands on its network and applications required a more comprehensive and proactive approach to network management and expansion.
