OPNET ACE Software Leverages Sniffer Technologies' Award-Winning Decode Technology to Effectively Diagnose and Resolve Application Performance Issues

BETHESDA, MD and SANTA CLARA, CA., September 5, 2001 -- Sniffer Technologies, a division of Network Associates (Nasdaq: NETA), and OPNET Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPNT), a leading provider of intelligent network management software, today announced an OEM agreement that will allow the integration of Sniffer decode technology with OPNET application management solutions. The new Sniffer/OPNET relationship will provide enterprise customers and Service Providers around the globe with best-in-class application management solutions that analyze, diagnose and resolve business-critical performance issues real-time for faster throughput and higher network uptime.

"I'm pleased to see first-class vendors like OPNET and Sniffer working together to create integrated solutions," said Greg Wolf, Global Director of Emerging Technologies with Infonet Services Corporation, an expert in the field of application performance analysis. "Network managers will directly benefit because they will now have the ability resolve complex application and network issues quickly and cost-effectively."

Under the Sniffer/OPNET agreement, OPNET will integrate Sniffer Technologies' decode technology with its ACE (Application Characterization Environment) application management solution. Integrated with OPNET's ACE software, enterprise IT and Service Providers will win the capability to alleviate application performance issues that can be costly to overall business efficiency and productivity.

"We see tremendous synergies between OPNET products and Sniffer Technolgies' industry-leading products," stated Marc Cohen, Chairman & CEO at OPNET. "By working with Sniffer to augment our OPNET ACE software solutions, our customers will significantly gain deeper protocol and application-specific analysis to quickly identify key issues they may be experiencing in their network."
