New Netbiz Application to Enable Ongoing, Pro-active Management of All-Optical NetworksWest Malling, Kent, and Bethesda, Maryland -- March 20, 2001 -- ilotron Ltd, the first company in the world to deliver a carrier network solution combining all-optical switching and ultra long haul transmission, and OPNET Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPNT), the leading supplier of intelligent network management software, today announced a joint development agreement to deliver advanced optical network planning software.
The agreement sees OPNET's Netbiz software being incorporated into ilotron's network solution to provide ongoing, proactive management of ilotron-powered optical networks.
Dr Chris Lilly, Chief Executive Officer, ilotron stated: "The development agreement with OPNET will, through the use of Netbiz software, allow us to optimize optical network planning and administration, making our optical products even more efficient and attractive to carriers."
