OPNET Technologies Earns SUPERQuest Award for Best E-Business Solution at SUPERCOMM 2000

ATLANTA -- June 7, 2000 -- OPNET Technologies, Inc., a provider of intelligent network management software, today received a SUPERQuest Award in recognition of its outstanding achievement in the implementation of network technologies. The presentation was made at a gala ceremony as part of the SUPERCOMM 2000 Conference and Exhibition being held in Atlanta. The third annual SUPERQuest Awards are sponsored by SUPERCOMM and CMP Media’s tele.com and Network Magazine.

OPNET’s IT DecisionGuru and Application Characterization Environment (ACE) were lauded as the best E-Business Solutions in the Most Promising New Enterprise Network Technology category. The recently released IT DecisionGuru 7.0 and optional ACE module are designed to help IT professionals eliminate the guesswork, increase availability and reliability, and control escalating costs associated with e-business. IT DecisionGuru's advanced visualization and simulation capabilities enable customers to understand application-coding tradeoffs, infrastructure requirements and the hard costs necessary to optimize the response time and availability of current and proposed e-business applications.

The SUPERQuest Awards recognize the implementation of public and private network solutions, and the key technologies involved in those solutions, that have advanced business for the customer. The program also recognizes the most promising new technologies represented on the SUPERCOMM show floor.

Organizations were recognized in 12 categories. The competition, established in 1998, drew more than 160 entrants and was judged by a panel of journalists and industry experts. This year’s program received a 50-percent increase in nominations over last year, a testament to the level of innovation taking place today in the communications industry.

SUPERCOMM, the premier annual communications and information technology exhibition and conference, is presented jointly by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and the United States Telecom Association (USTA). SUPERCOMM 2000 is being held June 4-8 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
