OPNET Technologies Hosts eBusiness Infrastructure Management Exhibit at OPNETWORK 2000
Interoperability Display Highlights Growing Role of Predictive Management in Design and Optimization of eBusiness Applications and InfrastructuresWASHINGTON, DC -- August 30, 2000 -- OPNET Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPNT), a provider of intelligent network management software, is staging the interOPNETwork technology exhibit at OPNETWORK 2000 to highlight the increasingly prominent role of the company's intelligent software in the planning and management of eBusiness infrastructures. OPNETWORK 2000, the company's fourth annual technology conference, is being held here from August 28th through September 1st.
interOPNETwork participants include many of the leading providers of network and application management solutions, such as Agilent Technologies Inc., Concord Communications, Hewlett-Packard, NetScout Systems, Network Associates and Tivoli Systems. The technology exhibit demonstrates the interoperability of OPNET's IT DecisionGuru and Application Characterization Environment (ACE) software with market-leading management, monitoring and reporting software.

The interOPNETwork exhibit showcases a network with wide-area network (WAN) links, distributed applications, and virtual local-area networks (VLANs). IT DecisionGuru and ACE collect utilization and performance information from the other management solutions deployed throughout the infrastructure. The OPNET software analyzes this information and provides recommendations to IT professionals -- improving application response times, troubleshooting capacity choke points, and preparing for new application deployments.
