ERP NetworkGuru is simulation-based decision-support software that predicts the performance of three distinct IT components associated with R/3 deployment -- the R/3 application itself, the enterprise network and any networked applications likely to be impacted by the presence of R/3. These simulations help IT optimize the enterprise architecture before going live with a new ERP implementation. After deployment, ERP NetworkGuru assists IT by predicting when network traffic will reach a point requiring additional bandwidth and by determining the effect on overall IT performance caused by the addition of new R/3 modules.
Align Network Infrastructure with Demands of ERP Applications
Experienced ERP NetworkGuru user Robert Rohlin, of modis Solutions, Inc., is serving as an on-site network manager under contract to a global petro-chemical company. Rohlin has used the software to help integrate the company's North American operation with its parent company in Brussels, Belgium.

The new release of ERP NetworkGuru enables customers to incorporate SAP-specific reporting and printing characteristics into performance simulations, providing greater insight into the impact of batch jobs, such as weekly and end-of-month reporting, on the network infrastructure and network-based applications.
Understand How R/3 and Existing Applications Will Impact One Another
Also new to Version 6.0 is integration with MIL 3's Multi-Vendor Import Module (MVIM), enabling customers to characterize non-ERP networked applications. Based on this module, MIL 3 has developed a methodology known as SMARTE (Simulation Methodology for Application Response Time Engineering) that allows ERP NetworkGuru users to understand the impact that SAP R/3 will have on the performance of specific applications. This capability, along with the software's native ability to assess R/3's impact on ambient network traffic, provides a complete picture of R/3's overall impact on the existing network environment. t.
