MIL 3's ERP Network Planner for SAP R/3 Now Shipping
Washington, DC, September 1, 1998 -- MIL 3, the industry pioneer in network simulation software, today announced the release of ERP Network Planner for SAP R/3, a powerful new tool for predicting the impact of deploying SAP software on an enterprise network.
Using OPNET simulation technology, ERP Network Planner for SAP R/3conducts a network assessment without affecting the production network. The tool addresses critical service level parameters such as response times, as well as provides a framework for capacity planning and scalability analysis. Existing network traffic and detailed protocol interactions are modeled to produce accurate application response time predictions.
ERP Network Planner for SAP R/3 uses MIL 3's powerful OPNET Planner 5.0 interface, adding SAP- specific features, such as explicit representation of the three-tier client-server architecture, to focus the solution on networking issues of interest to SAP practitioners.
For example, ERP Network Planner for SAP R/3 can be used to assess the suitability of an existing enterprise network for rollout of a proposed SAP deployment. If the existing network is not sufficient, ERP Network Planner for SAP R/3 assists with capacity planning to determine required link sizing.
