Deloitte Consulting and MIL 3, Inc. Sign Network Modeling and Simulation Alliance Agreement

San Francisco, October 30, 1997 -- Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group, a leading global management consulting firm and MIL 3, Inc., the company that pioneered the technology of network simulation software, today announced that they have entered into a Network Modeling and Simulation Alliance.

Under the terms of this agreement, Deloitte Consulting will offer its customers advanced network analysis and planning capabilities based on MIL 3's OPNET Planner software. MIL 3 and Deloitte Consulting will work together to provide a private-labeled version of OPNET Planner, incorporating models and methodologies that leverage Deloitte Consulting's global networking expertise.

Deloitte Consulting will be adding OPNET Planner software to its Solution Center of the Americas. The Solution Center, located in Minneapolis, MN, is a research and development technical showcase and demonstration facility supporting Deloitte Consulting in the Americas.

"The agreement between Deloitte Consulting and MIL 3 and the incorporation of simulation into our design methodology will provide our consultants and clients with superior technology for network capacity planning and performance prediction," said Mack Schwing, Global Director of Deloitte Consulting's Network Practice.

"Our software is like electronic modeling clay for networks," said Marc Cohen, CEO and co-founder of MIL 3. "OPNET Planner will make it possible for Deloitte Consulting to see in advance how systems will work before committing to a network design or deploying new applications."

"These models are flexible and parameterized, allowing Deloitte Consulting to apply their significant knowledge of how these applications impact the enterprise network."
