OPNET’s Annual Conference Spotlights Managing the Performance of Applications in the Cloud
OPNETWORK will host record number of participants over four days in Washington, D.C.BETHESDA, MD –August 29, 2011-- OPNET Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPNT), a leading provider of solutions for application and network performance management, today announced the opening of its annual technology conference, focusing on advancing the state of application and network performance management. OPNETWORK 2011, the fourteenth edition of the event, also marks the 25th anniversary of the company’s founding. A record number of attendees – nearly 2,500 – have registered for the conference, which is being held in Washington, D.C., August 29th through September 1st.
OPNETWORK is the largest event focusing on performance management, attracting thought leaders from industry, government, and academic communities from all over the world. This year’s program will feature 600 hours of hands-on training, expert panel discussions, case studies, and live demonstrations.

- Virtual appliances and software agents for monitoring applications in public and private clouds, and integrating results into the enterprise-wide view of end-user experience.
- Cross-tier transaction tracing and analysis across multiple tiers, with long term storage and powerful search across hundreds of millions of archived transactions.
- Breakthrough capabilities for monitoring and analyzing the performance of applications in Citrix environments.
Guest presenters at the conference will include Will Cappelli, Research VP, Gartner, Inc., who will discuss the evolving role of APM in IT management, and Bojan Simic, President and Principal Analyst, TRAC Research, Inc., who will share the results of new research regarding end-user experience monitoring and emerging priorities for enterprises. Additionally, senior IT representatives from Fortune 100 organizations will describe best practices for performance management, and business benefits realized with OPNET solutions.
