Thank you for your interest in "Why OPNET’s Acquisition of Network Physics’ Technology Should be a Brilliant Move" by Enterprise Management Associates.

Abstract:
On October 22, 2007, OPNET acquired Network Physics’ assets – another in many moves towards industry consolidation through acquisition, this time in what EMA calls the Application Flow Management (AFM) market targeted at managing application performance across the networked infrastructure. However, EMA believes that this is not just a run-of-the-mill acquisition, even given what must have been a very modest purchase price point. Network Physics’ NetSensory, now under the banner of ACE Live, has the potential not only to round out OPNET’s portfolio, but also to give OPNET an appliance-based solution that can serve as a quick-start footprint in new accounts or distributed geographical environments. EMA expects OPNET to execute reasonably well on the acquisition from a market perspective, and very well from a technology perspective. If both of these things happen, it will indeed be one of the most beneficial acquisition moves in recent years.
