Raytheon Selects OPNET for Distributed Simulation

Raytheon is a leader in the design, integration, test and fielding of tactical communications systems for defense and government organizations. Modeling and simulation is a cornerstone of the engineering process and methodology. Raytheon leverages OPNET solutions for its large-scale distributed simulations.

OPNET’s High-Level Architecture (HLA) module plugs directly into OPNET Modeler to provide co-simulation capability with other federates. Raytheon uses this for extensive Hardware-in-the-Loop studies and to integrate with other complementary simulation tools. OPNET software also plays a key role in the following R&D initiatives:

Porting of detailed communications and networking protocols code from models into operational hardware
Performance analysis of large-scale wireless, tactical networks
Evaluation of communications and network architecture alternatives for risk management
