Tzero Enables Wireless
High Definition Video Transmission
throughout the Home with OPNET
Tzero case study
Tzero Technologies is the leader in ultra wideband (UWB)
for high-definition video applications. The company’s
chipset serves as the foundation for a range of products – HDTVs,
DVD players, set-top boxes, game systems, and other multimedia
equipment – allowing them to interchange entertainment
content wirelessly.
Tzero used OPNET Modeler’s open environment to model its TZ7000 UWB chipset
and evaluate vendor-specific algorithms such as data rate adaptation, retransmission
policies, reservation optimization, peer-to-peer device synchronization, and
the company’s proprietary Ultra-MIMO technology. The design was validated
by creating realistic implementations of the architecture in virtual devices,
using multiple channel models including AWGN, multi-path line-of- sight, and
highly scattered non-line-of-sight. Modeler was then used to test and debug the
production firmware.
“OPNET Modeler is the ideal solution for creating realistic models of our
UWB chipset architecture with high fidelity, allowing us to deliver dependable
solutions to our customers.”
