Software Engineers – Transport Network Solutions
As a Software Engineer, you will be engaged in designing, implementing, and enhancing features within the OPNET software products. The Transport Network Solutions team is primarily responsible for developing the Service Provider Guru Transport Planner product. The team develops features to import, visualize, analyze, report and design transport and multi-layer networks. Example design solutions include traffic engineering, dimensioning, grooming, multilayer (L1/L2/L3) optimization and capacity planning.
Qualifications
Here’s what you should bring to the table:
- BS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering or a related field is required, advanced degrees preferred
- Must have a thorough knowledge of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming and the C/C++ languages
- Development experience with Windows Vista/XP/2000/NT and/or UNIX, operating systems
- Knowledge in combinatoric optimization, graph theory, algorithms, data structures, network optimization and capacity planning
- A broad-based background in communications network technologies including WDM, SONET/SDH, Ethernet, MPLS, routing protocols, etc.
- Experience with software development processes and tools such as Subversion, Visual Studio, ClearCase, Purify, gdb, Valgrind, etc.
- Experience developing network management applications and creating graphical user interfaces is highly desirable
- Must be motivated to have an impact on our products, our company, and the state of the art.
