Network Engineers
Network Engineer to help solve government customers’ network, application,
and server capacity/performance issues. This job combines engineering disciplines
with a business focus for delivering IT performance recommendations. Candidate
will utilize OPNET’s software to plan, design, deploy, operate, and optimize
IT infrastructures. Additional tasks include but are not limited to:
- Perform network capacity planning and performance analyses with IT/SP Guru, VNE, ACE
- Perform network design analysis and configuration validation
- Analyze and understand client’s IT requirements, organization functions, and decision making processes
- Based at client sites for significant assignments, some work in Bethesda HQ
- Produce a solution that fulfills client’s needs within budget and schedule constraints
- Collect network performance information required for simulation modeling studies
- Perform server capacity planning and performance analyses for UNIX and Windows based platforms
- Present and articulate advanced product features, benefits, and overall product solutions
Qualifications
Here’s what you should bring to the table:
- BS degree in an Engineering discipline with 5+ years of communication network design and/or analysis experience
- Current SSBI and some form of SCI clearance preferred
- A thorough technical understanding of communication networks (designs, protocols, components, and operations)
- A fundamental technical understanding of multi-tier application architectures and performance issues
- A professional, take-charge style
- An ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people
- A scientific passion for precision and the evolving art of IT
- OPNET software experience is highly desired
- Must be motivated to have an impact on our products, our company, and the state of the art.
