Model Development Consortium

The OPNET WiMAX Model Development Consortium includes many members from network equipment manufacturers, service providers, and defense organizations.

The WiMAX Discrete Event Simulation model is being developed in accordance with the IEEE 802.16e standard, which incorporates node mobility. The first release of the OPNET WiMAX model was made available to consortium members in September 2005. Development is planned to continue in phases.
